Fabio Carvalho is set to join Championship side Hull City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old has only just returned to Liverpool after seeing his season-long switch to RB Leipzig cut short over concerns regarding his game time.

The forward started just once in the Bundesliga during an ill-fated spell in Germany, with Liverpool eager to ensure the former Fulham star's career does not stagnate.

Carvalho has been linked with a host of clubs in recent days – including the likes of Wolves, Fulham and even Everton. However, according to the Athletic, it is Championship ship side Hull who are close to winning the race to sign the youngster – beating out interest from Southampton.

The report claims that Carvalho "held positive talks" with both Hull manager Liam Rosenior and midfielder Tyler Morton, who is on a season-long deal at the Tigers from Liverpool.

The deal is expected to be finalised this week, with the Portugal Under-21 set to join Hull's promotion chase.

Carvalho's prospective new side sit seventh in the Championship table after 26 games, just one point off the playoff places.

The youngster remains under contract at Liverpool until 2027, while a recent poll of Anfield Watch followers showed that a majority think he still has a future at the club.

Posed the question on X, 53.9% of fans (4,147 votes) think the forward should get another chance, compared to 46.1% (3,546 votes) who don't.

After shining with Fulham in the Championship, Carvalho made the move to Anfield in the summer of 2022.

However, after some initial promise – including goals against Newcastle and Bournemouth – he found game time hard to come by, and made just 13 Premier League appearances in 2022/23.
