Even though the Dutchman has been brought in as a head-coach rather than as a manager, Slot still has his say when it comes to Liverpool's transfers.

The only difference is that unlike Jurgen Klopp, he does not have the final say. The final decision is more of a collective one between Slot and his recruitment team led by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes.
So, this doesn't mean that bringing in some of Slot's former players is completely out of the question, which will be music to the ears of Givairo Read.
The lowdown on Givairo Read, who wants to join Liverpool
Read made his professional debut under Slot last season. He's an 18-year-old right-back who recently played a major role locking down Rafael Leao against AC Milan in the Champions League.
We first wrote about him when he spoke about his love for Liverpool in an interview. Asked to pick between Man United and Man City, Read chose Liverpool, declaring his life long devotion towards Slot's side.
Now reports have claimed he has been lined up as a potential Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement. Read will undoubtedly feel like he is ready to complete what would be a dream move and strike an agreement with the Reds.
However, Anfield Watch sought out expert insight by speaking to Football Transfers' Dutch journalist, Milan Keskin, to get the full lowdown on the exciting talent.
So Milan, what kind of player is Givairo Read? What are his best qualities as a right-back?
Milan Keskin: Givairo Read is an attack-minded wingback and could perhaps be best compared to Denzel Dumfries. Besides being incredibly strong offensively, he also succeeded in shutting down Rafael Leao against AC Milan. And he did that at the age of 18.
He's been going viral in England for his recent comments about Liverpool. Some sites have even said Liverpool are interested in him. Have you heard anything?
Milan Keskin: No, nothing concrete. Just that he is a fan of Liverpool.
He made his debut under Arne Slot, does he suit his style of play?
Milan Keskin: He definitely fits the playing style of Arne Slot with overlapping wingbacks. It’s no surprise that Slot was a big fan of him.
Does he have the potential to play in England? How highly rated is he in the Netherlands?
Milan Keskin: It will only be a matter of time before Read is ready for a step to the Premier League. I do think it’s better for him to continue getting minutes at Feyenoord for now. If he makes the move to Liverpool now, his development will stagnate.
He didn't seem fazed at all going up against AC Milan, but he did get a red card at the end of the game, what was that all about?
Milan Keskin: He received a red card for provoking the AC Milan players after the match. Nothing too exciting. It won’t result in a long suspension.
Could you see him playing for Liverpool one day?
