EXCLUSIVE: Newly-crowned Footballer of the Year WANTS Liverpool move
Ademola Lookman is the CAF Footballer of the Year for 2024. He's also a player hoping to move to Liverpool.
CAF named Ademola Lookman the African Footballer of the Year on Monday night in Marrakech. Lookman wins the award for an outstanding season in Italy with Atalanta.

The highlight, of course, was the hat trick in the UEFA Europa League final. Those goals made Atalanta the only team to defeat Bayer Leverkusen in any competition last season but most importantly, delivered the Italians their first European trophy.
There were 17 goals across all competitions, too, in a fantastic campaign for Lookmna. He was the hero of Atalanta - but that didn't prevent him from pushing for a move.
Anfield Watch understands that Lookman's representatives openly told Liverpool in the summer that they would like a move to Anfield. This is largely down to the player wanting a return to the North West of England, where he previously played for Everton.
Manchester City were also made aware of his desire to join them.
Atalanta ultimately priced anyone out of a move for Lookman but the player still harbours desires to move back. He's even holding onto a house in the area, just in case a January move can happen.
Liverpool and Ademola Lookman
Liverpool did have some ambitions around signing a left-winger last summer. There was actually a deal in place for Anthony Gordon, though that one fell through.
Bizarrely, both Gordon and Lookman are former Everton players. Both would quite like to switch to Red, however.
There are doubts around Luis Diaz's future, too, which makes it somewhat possible that Liverpool enter talks over Lookman. We can't imagine that happens in January, though, and the summer is likely the earliest anything could happen.
But this is one to watch out for. Lookman is enjoying yet another great season with Atalanta, scoring 11 times in 19 games (and 8 in 13 Serie A appearances).
If Liverpool do decide to move on from Diaz, the former Everton man could well be a fantastic option to replace him.
