Anfield Watch can reveal that any deal for Andre Trindade depends on whether Liverpool would be willing to provide satisfactory compensation to Fluminense for pulling one of their star players away ahead of their Copa Libertadores quarter-final clash against Olimpia.

Liverpool have already made an approach to sign Andre, being one of their priority positions, but the side were told that they could only get a deal done if Andre was allowed to join in the January window.

Of course, Liverpool need reinforcements now - Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia have been lost to Chelsea and now the side are having to reassess their options.

Personal terms would not be a problem for Andre’s side, we are told. The issue lies in the fee that Liverpool would be prepared to offer for the midfielder.

Being inexperienced and young, the purchase of Andre for a significant fee would pose something of a risk to Liverpool.

Last month, Football Transfers revealed that the Reds made an attempt to sign the midfielder, along with Fulham, but his current side were not prepared to let the Brazilian leave during this point in their club’s season.

Fluminense have their first leg match against Olimpia on August 25 but the total round won’t be wrapped up until September 2, the return leg at which point the transfer window will be shut

The Brazil club have always maintained that he could sign for another club this window, but not join until later.

We were told that for €25m (£21.5m), Fluminense would allow Andre to leave with 80% of his economic rights, as well as future add-ons.

It is thought that Liverpool would have to come over the top of that amount to ensure the signature of Andre. While other targets include Khephren Thuram, Matheus Nunes, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
