EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool all in on SENSATIONAL €60m Spanish midfielder
Martin Zubimendi has been heavily linked with a transfer to Liverpool but there's another Spanish midfielder who the club's scouts are completely enamoured by.
Despite the brilliant form of the Reds' midfielders this season, including the emergence of Ryan Gravenberch, the club is still looking to add reinforcements in the department.

One player who Liverpool really admired was Zubimendi, with Richard Hughes getting very close to convincing him to join the club in the summer before a last-minute u-turn saw the Spaniard stay at Real Sociedad.
Zubimendi remains on the club's radar, but Anfield Watch understands he is not the only Spaniard on the club's shortlist.
Liverpool all in on Nico Gonzalez
Sources close to the club have revealed to Anfield Watch that Liverpool scouts have been completely blown away by the performances of Porto midfielder, Nico Gonzalez.
Liverpool's scouts have visited Porto frequently this season and while many have assumed they had travelled there to observe the performances of Alan Varela, it's actually Gonzalez who has caught the Reds' attention.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been in great form and has stood out for his brilliant technical ability combined with his physical prowess, including his ability to press forward effectively from midfield.
Nico Gonzalez buyout clause revealed
A product of Barcelona's renowned La Masia academy, Gonzalez is also a Spanish U21 international. He left Barca back in the summer of 2023 and has since settled into life in the Portuguese top flight, flourishing for Porto.
As opposed to Zubimendi, Gonzalez is a more dynamic midfielder who is best in a box-to-box role rather than in the sitting no.6 position.
He already has five goals and five assists in 24 appearances for Porto this season.
The Spaniard has a contract with Porto until 2028, but there is a release clause that can be triggered which is €60m, roughly £50m.
It's important to note that until June 2025, Barcelona have a buy-back clause worth just €30m, and if they opt not to trigger that clause 40% of the profit will also go to the Catalans.
Gonzalez was so highly rated in Barcelona, his buyout close in a contract he signed back in 2022 was set to a billion euros.
It was a surprise when the Catalans let him depart for Porto, and Gonzalez is showing just why with his impressive performances on the pitch.
If Liverpool want to pursue their move further, they will have to act fast and hope Barcelona are not intent on triggering that buy-back clause.
