Arne Slot's side will take on the Championship side on Sunday afternoon, looking to continue where they left off after a brilliant 4-0 victory in the last round.

Szoboszlai played a role in the Reds' victory over Accrington Stanley, registering an assist at Anfield for Trent Alexander-Arnold's well-struck goal.

It is moot whether he will be involved against Plymouth. Although there will be one man who will be desperate to come up against him.

Szoboszlai's banter with Hungary teammate

The man in question is Plymouth defender Kornel Szucs, who is a Hungarian international football and who sat down with Anfield Watch ahead of the game to discuss the match and his national team captain.

"After the draw, we [with Szoboszlai] had a conversation. I said to him that they must be ready for us because, because we are not going to give ourselves easily," Szucs told Anfield Watch.

The Liverpool midfielder had an emphatic response to his international teammate's goading.

"He rather just laughed, but I was serious. So, they're going to see it," Szucs says.

The defender has every right to be confident. Plymouth knocked out Premier League side Brentford in the last round in what was a major upset and they are in good form beating West Brom and drawing with Sunderland since Wayne Rooney was fired from his managerial job.

"You know, in one match in football, anything can happen. We are starting to pick up points. I think we have more confidence and we won away at Brentford So, I'm hoping that we're going to get a good result," Szucs says.

"If we would beat them [Liverpool], that would be like history."

But Szucs knows it will be a tough test, especially having witnessed firsthand what it's like to come up against Szoboszlai in national team training sessions.

"It's hard to stop him because he has a fantastic foot. He's so good on the ball and he is doing the defensive work as well. So, it's hard to play against him.

"But I think that our chance would be to try to help each other as much as we can, not to leave players one on one because we know their [Liverpool] quality. That's why they are top of the league. So, we need to be like this for the whole match."

Szucs revealed away from the FA Cup, he will be supporting his international teammate and hopes Liverpool will go all the way in the Premier League and also highlighted Szoboszlai's patience as a captain.

"He's a really good guy," Szucs said.

"And on the other hand he's a leader as well. If he says something, everybody listens to him because he has a good experience. He doesn't shout, he tells you what he thinks about that situation and I think that's a better way.

"I'm really glad that in the national team we have a captain like him. I'm so happy that he's playing, so good in Liverpool as well. I'm following their matches and I'm hoping that they're gonna win the league."

And when asked if there will be a shirt swap at the end of the game, Szucs had high hopes.
