Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

However, football journalist Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told Anfield Watch that Leicester City will not be selling Tielemans on the cheap this summer.

Romano also said that Leicester City are in the process of offering Tielemans a new contract.

"In the case of players like Tielemans, it is complicated because Leicester are offering him a new contract," Romano told Anfield Watch.

"The player is now on holiday, he wants to wait. He will decide about his future when he returns.

"But, signing Tielemans, not just for Liverpool, but for any club this summer, means spending a lot of money. I think more than €50-60 million.

"It is not easy [for most clubs to sign Tielemans] this summer [because of Leicester's asking price]."

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Tielemans is a very good player. The midfielder averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.09 in the Premier League last season.

Also, as you can see in the footage below, Tielemans scored a superb goal to secure the FA Cup for Leicester City last season. Tielemans' goal ensured that Leicester City defeated Chelsea 1-0 on the day.

However, if Leicester City are going to demand more than €50-60 million for Tielemans this summer, then we don't see the Reds signing the midfielder.

It has been reported that Liverpool have felt the pinch of the pandemic from a financial point of view.

Therefore, it would be fair to assume that Liverpool won't have the money to purchase Tielemans this summer.

The only way we could see Liverpool signing Tielemans this summer is if the club sells a first-team player for a fair amount of money.

But, who's to say that Tielemans even wants to join Liverpool. He has not publicly announced that he wants to join the club.
