Pundit Jamie Carragher has waxed lyrical about Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.

The Colombia international was solid against Rangers at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Diaz registered a WhoScored player rating of 7.44 for his 90-minute performance against the Glasgow-based club.

Carragher said the following about the 25-year-old post-game.

“Luis Diaz was excellent again,” he told CBS Sports (04/10/22 at 10:35pm UK time). “Great dribble, gets brought down for a penalty, which Mo Salah finishes.

“Diaz again, we talk about Liverpool missing (Sadio) Mane. But they have got him to come in, which is fantastic.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Diaz from Porto for a transfer fee of €47 million back in January. Since then, the winger has scored 10 goals and registered seven assists in 37 appearances for the club's first-team.

Diaz has also won the League Cup, FA Cup and Community Shield with Liverpool. In other words, the Colombia international has been a very good signing.

The exciting thing about Diaz is that he is only 25 years of age. The forward is far from the finished article.

Who knows how good Diaz could become. I guess only time will tell.

Diaz is contracted until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign. We wish the winger all the best for the remainder of the season.
