"Everyone was very open" - Virgil van Dijk on Liverpool's new signings
Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has recently spoken about the club's new arrivals.
The Reds have signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay this summer.
Van Dijk has revealed that the players have done everything possible to make the aforementioned players feel welcome.
The Dutchman also touched on why he believes Nunez and Carvalho will be good players for Liverpool.
"You try to do the same things you experienced yourself when you joined the club. Everyone was very open and honest and warm to you and try to help you in however way," Van Dijk told the Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.
"It's not the easiest for Darwin, for example, because his English is still to be seen. But he wants to learn and get better and we are going to see a lot of good things from him.
"Fabio, I am very impressed with him. He is a fantastic player. I think he is going to do very well for us. Hopefully he will keep improving and keep learning and stay grounded and humble and good things will happen to him."
Anfield Watch Verdict
It is great to hear that Van Dijk and his teammates have been doing everything possible to make the new arrivals feel welcome.
The reality is, it must be intimidating walking into a new environment. All eyes are on you.
But, going by Van Dijk's comments, the transition has been relatively seamless for the new signings.
Nunez, Carvalho and Ramsay will play plenty of football for Liverpool next season. The Reds compete in the Premier League, Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup.
So, squad rotation is necessary. The 2022-23 campaign should be an intriguing watch.
