"Every three points count" - Thiago on the remainder of the season

Liverpool's Thiago Alcantara has spoken about the remainder of the Premier League season and how intense the league is.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Thiago has said that the Liverpool team are happy to be in the current position they're in heading into the final few months of the season.

"The Premier League is very intense," said Thiago. "The Champions League is very intense in terms of the emotion of the people at night so it was good, this week off, to charge the batteries and be ready for this amazing two months that we have ahead.

"It’s important for us at this level, with this club, with these players we have, to have the chance to win all the trophies possible, which we have now. We are very happy to be in that position.

"I don’t think to see us on top before City plays would be a boost. No, it’s just that we are in a moment where every three points count and we are really glad to arrive at this position and fight and depend on us."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Thiago has adapted brilliantly since joining the Premier League from the Bundesliga and if it wasn't for minor injuries, the Spaniard would be in with a shout to be a part of the Team of the Season.

We all know that Jurgen Klopp's teams thrive on pressure and Thiago's comments back that point up even more.

If the Reds can get a decent result over Watford to get rid of the post international break cobwebs then I expect them to win every game in April.

If we were to have a 100% record in April then we'd be top of the league, in a Champions League semi-final and in an FA Cup final. That wouldn't be a bad month, would it!
