Every player Liverpool that could be missing for the Carabao Cup final
Liverpool have a shot at silverware on Sunday afternoon as Jurgen Klopp's farewell tour travels to Wembley take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.
The Reds claimed a 3-2 aggregate victory over Fulham in the semi-final to secure their spot in the showpiece fixture, continuing a cup campaign that had hardly seen any hiccups.
In a repeat of the Carabao Cup final of 2022, it's the Blues who lie in wait at Wembley, with Liverpool hopeful that penalties won't be needed this time around.
However, they go into the contest with a severely depleted squad, with up to 11 players set to be absent through injury.
The likes of Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all confirmed out, while a few key names will be subject to a late fitness call, forcing Reds fans to cross their fingers ahead of the lineup's announcement at 2pm.
Here is every injury concern Liverpool have going into Sunday's finale.
Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah is doubtful to start in the Carabao Cup final against his former side.
Having been sidelined after picking up a muscle injury at the Africa Cup of Nations, he initially made his Liverpool return last weekend against Brentford - coming off the bench to bag a goal and an assist.
However, after aggravating the problem, he was forced to sit out in the win against Luton in midweek.
Assistant manager Pep Lijnders said on Friday that a late decision would be made on whether Salah is fit enough to feature in the matchday squad.
Expected return: Chelsea (February 25) or Southampton (February 28)
Dominik Szoboszlai
Similarly to Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai has been struggling with a recurring muscle injury since the turn of the year.
Despite making a brief return at the tail end of January, he was soon back on the treatment table after feeling discomfort in the same area.
The Hungarian could make his comeback in the final, but faces a race to be declared fit.
Expected return: Chelsea (February 25) or Southampton (February 28)
Darwin Nunez
The third regular Reds starter that will be subject to a late fitness call ahead of the Wembley showcase, Darwin Nunez is verging on a return to action after picking up a problem at Brentford.
He missed out on the previous outing against Luton, and while the Uruguayan is expected to be available in the coming days, Sunday's final could come too soon.
Expected return: Chelsea (February 25) or Southampton (February 28)
Diogo Jota
Diogo Jota was stretchered off in the last weekend's trip to Brentford after sustaining a knee injury.
Luckily, the Premier League Player of the Month escaped an ACL injury and is instead on the road to recovery from an MCL injury.
While this completely rules the Portuguese forward out for Sunday's final, it does mean he's in contention to return to action towards the end of the season.
Expected return: Late April/early May
Curtis Jones
Another man to come out of last weekend worse for wear, Curtis Jones is also facing a spell on the sidelines.
The Englishman suffered ankle ligament damage against the Bees and missed the midweek visit of Luton as a result.
He is confirmed out of the final and is eyeing a return around the March international break.
Expected return: Mid-March
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been hampered with injuries since January, becoming one of the many to make a brief return to action before quickly being sidelined once again with seemingly the same problem.
After suffering a recurrence of the knee injury he first picked up against Arsenal, he is now out for the final and is not expected to be available for at least the next month.
Expected return: Late March/early April
Alisson Becker
Liverpool number one Alisson has not featured for the Reds since their 3-1 defeat at Arsenal, missing out of recent games due to a cocktail of illness and injury.
He is currently nursing a hamstring injury and is expected to return after the March international break.
Expected return: Late March/early April
Thiago Alcantara
Thiago Alcantara's long-awaited return from injury was very much short-lived.
Making a late cameo in Liverpool's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal - his first appearance since April of last year - he would pick up another problem, this time in regard to his hamstring.
His timeline for a return is unknown, with many speculating that he could have played his last game in a Reds shirt.
Expected return: Unknown
Joel Matip
Joel Matip is ruled out for the season after sustaining an ACL injury in December of last year.
The Cameroonian, who was Jurgen Klopp's second ever signing at Liverpool, may have played his last game for the club, with his contract expiring in the summer.
Expected return: Unknown
Stefan Bajcetic
Stefan Bajcetic hasn't featured for Liverpool in months as he continues to work his way back from a plethora of unorthodox injury problems, such as those to do with growing pains.
There is no exact timeframe on his return.
Expected return: Unknown
Ben Doak
Ben Doak is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury earlier in the campaign, requiring surgery.
There is no exact timeframe on his return.
