Every Liverpool game Trent Alexander-Arnold could miss with injury

Here's every game Trent Alexander-Arnold could miss after the Liverpool star aggravated a knee injury. He's out of the Carabao Cup final.

News broke on Wednesday, per the Telegraph, that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out of action for the next little while. Liverpool's vice-captain has aggravated a knee injury - first picked up against Arsenal in January - and it's proven to be a problem.

Alexander-Arnold will now miss the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. But how much more will he miss? Here's what to expect going forward.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ruled out

Brentford vs Liverpool (Feb 17)

This one certainly comes too quickly. Liverpool travel to take on Brentford this weekend and will be without Alexander-Arnold. The full-back isn't the only absence, either - Dominik Szboboszlai will also miss this one.

Conor Bradley is back, though, and in contention to start at right-back.

Liverpool vs Luton (Feb 21)

This is the match rescheduled from the Carabao Cup final weekend. It's now a difficult fixture - one just four days before the final, forcing Jurgen Klopp to rotate his squad somewhat.

That's all the more difficult to do with the news that Alexander-Arnold won't be a part of that squad. Szbosozlai is another expected to miss this.

Liverpool vs Chelsea (Feb 25)

This is the last fixture where Alexander-Arnold is ruled out. It's also a massive one as Liverpool aim to pick up their first trophy of the season and, hopefully, the first part of a hugely successful campaign.

They'll have to do it without their vice-captain, however. Szoboszlai is a doubt but could be back. Alexander-Arnold won't be.

Trent Alexander-Arnold could feature

Liverpool vs Southampton (Feb 28)

Liverpool's return to the FA Cup here. It's a Fifth Round clash but one against a Championship side - the Reds will be massive favourites, especially at home.

Alexander-Arnold could feature, say the Telegraph. A later match is the target but Klopp may want to give his star a bit of playing time here before a big return. No one should hold their breath, though.

Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool (Mar 2)

The Reds will hope this is where Alexander-Arnold gets back on the pitch. It's eight days before an enormous clash but far enough after the Carabao Cup final that there's a good chance he's fit.

At the very least, they'll want him to get a few late minutes.

TBD vs Liverpool (Mar 7)

This will be the first leg of Liverpool's Europa League Last 16 tie. We don't yet know who the Reds will face (you can see the possibilities here) but it's unlikely to be a routine game.

It's also just three days before the season's biggest clash. It feels highly unlikely that Alexander-Arnold would start but perhaps 30 minutes or so is on the cards.

Liverpool vs Manchester City (Mar 10)

The big one. Alexander-Arnold's injury turns from a huge blow to a true disaster if he can't feature against Manchester City. It's the biggest game of the season and arguably the biggest game in the entire Premier League this season.

It sounds as though the player is somewhat confident that he will play here. The Telegraph describe him as 'optimistic', anyway. If there's any suggestion of him facing Southampton, then it does sound promising for the City game, which comes some way later.

Fingers crossed.

Liverpool vs TBD (Mar 14)

The second leg of the Europa League tie. If there's optimism around the City game, fans can expect to see Alexander-Arnold feature in a fixture four days later. He should be good for this one, barring a setback.

Everton vs Liverpool (Mar 17)

The Telegraph reports that there's no feeling that Alexander-Arnold will miss the England fixtures in March. This is the last fixture before those games, suggesting he'll be fine to feature here.

Again, a setback can change things but Liverpool should be out of the woods by derby day.
