Every Arsenal injury concern ahead of Premier League clash with Liverpool

Liverpool travel to north London to face Arsenal on Sunday in what could prove a pivotal Premier League clash come the end of the season.

The Reds are currently five points clear of the Gunners and title rivals Manchester City, albeit the latter have a game in hand, but could extend that gap to an impressive eight with victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp's side won away at Arsenal in the FA Cup third round in January, but could only manage a 1-1 draw in the Premier League at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta's side remain an incredible side despite some slip-ups in recent weeks, with their performances against Liverpool exhibiting as much.

The Reds will be confident given their incredible recent form and the return of some key injured players, but Arteta also has a fairly clean bill of health heading into Sunday's encounter.

Fabio Vieira is a player potentially missing from Arsenal's midfield, but the Portuguese could also come back into the squad for Sunday. The former Liverpool target has been absent since early November but is closing in on a return to action in the coming games.

Mohamed Elneny has made his way back to north London a little earlier than expected after being knocked out of AFCON with Egypt. The midfielder is likely to take up a place on the bench at the very least.

There are three guaranteed absentees for the Gunners, though.

The Gunners will be without Thomas Partey, the midfielder probably the most significant absentee for Arteta's side.

He hasn't featured since October and was missing from the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Partey returned to training recently but has suffered a setback on his road to recovery and will be absent for Liverpool's visit.

"‘I’m not a doctor but I can try to explain. He felt something again in a very similar area and he wasn’t able to train for the last few days," said Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

Jurrien Timber, who was injured on his Arsenal debut on the opening day of the season, is still sidelined after tearing his ACL, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is playing alongside Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo at the Asian Cup with Japan.
