'Appalling' superstar gets a 1/10: Liverpool player ratings from Everton defeat

© IMAGO

Here are our player ratings from a horrendous Liverpool performance as they lost 2-0 away at Everton in the Premier League.

Alisson Becker: 7

Couldn't do much about either goal - did well just to affect the first. Great save kept Everton out initially.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 4

Some impressive passing in the first half bumps his rating up but then they just... stopped. Alexander-Arnold offered little to nothing in the second half.

Ibrahima Konaté: 2

Struggled to cope with Everton in the air, gave away some stupid fouls and was deservedly taken off in a straight-swap for Jarell Quansah. One of his worst in a Liverpool shirt.

Virgil Van Dijk: 3

One of his absolute worst, too. Van Dijk won little in the air and struggled to command things as he usually does. When even he's struggling, you know it's a bad one.

Andy Robertson: 4

A higher score than some because Robertson's runs were genuinely fantastic. Virtually nothing he did with the ball was, however.

Alexis Mac Allister: 3

Stupid fouls, passes that didn't do much - we're not sure where the player of a month ago has gone.

Dominik Szoboszlai: 4

Had some good moments and plenty of his runs were solid. In the end he just didn't do enough to make things happen.

Curtis Jones: 4

As above, really. Jones was far too slow on the ball at times and the good moments were few and far between.

Mohamed Salah: 1

A genuinely appalling performance. Didn't get involved much at all and when he did, spurned chances badly. Then came the kicker of giving the ball away for Everton's eventual second goal.

Darwin Nunez: 2

You can handle Nunez's quirks when he's also doing the magic bits. This was not that - and it hasn't been for a while. Awful.

Luis Diaz: 7

Brutally unfortunate not to score as his shot cracked off the post. Could have had one in the first half, too, albeit from a difficult finish. Unquestionably the most impressive outfield Liverpool player.

Subs

We'll just lump all the subs together here. The game felt dead when they came on, Liverpool unable to find anything going forward and not particularly thriving at keeping Everton quiet. Scoring them feels virtually impossible, honestly.

Harvey Elliott: As above

Wataru Endo: As above

Jarell Quansah: As above

Joe Gomez: As above

Kostas Tsimikas: As above
