Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has opened on his takings from pre-season thus far.

The Spaniard revealed that he has learnt plenty having worked under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp for two years.

But, Thiago implied that he expects to take his game to another level this campaign as a result of the current pre-season programme.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told Liverpoolfc.com the following: “It was an important experience that I lived, these two years under the manager’s teaching, but it will be even better this season.

“It was nice to be here from the beginning. We had a long travel in Asia, Bangkok and Singapore; we really felt the warmth of the fans there.

“Now we start the heavy part of the pre-season. We start to run and to play more intense, as we want. So far, so good. It’s always good to prepare yourself as much as you can. Not just as an individual matter but also with the football ideas we have.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Thiago was very good for Liverpool last season. The midfielder averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.10 across the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

If Thiago can stay fit and healthy, which is something that he has struggled to do since joining the club back in 2020, we are confident he will continue his good form next campaign. The pre-season appears to be doing him wonders.

Going by the Spaniard's comments, he is happy where is game/body is at.

We wish Thiago and the team all the very best ahead of the new season. Liverpool will face Fulham at Craven Cottage on the 6th of August to kickstart their 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
