Following Friday's draw, Liverpool's fixture details for the Europa League group stage have been confirmed.

The Reds been paired with LASK, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Toulouse in Group E - a draw that has been welcomed by Jurgen Klopp, given the relative close proximity of all three teams to Anfield. No dreaded trans-Europe trips to Qarabag or Maccabi Haifa.

It's the first time Liverpool have competed in the Europa League since the 2015/16 season; a campaign which saw the Reds reach the final, only to be pipped to the crown by serial Europa-winners Sevilla in Basel.

Now, as the club gets back to playing on Thursday nights after an extended stay in the Champions League, Klopp will surely be eager to avenge the defeat of seven years ago, with the Europa League being one of just major two trophies the German manager is yet to win with Liverpool - the other being the recently conceived Europa Conference League.

With the path to Dublin starting with the group stages, Liverpool have learned their European schedule for the coming months.

Ahead of the start of Liverpool's European campaign, Klopp has expressed delight at the draw, in particular the challenge of facing new opponents.

"[I've] never played against one of the teams, which I love, and [I'm] really excited about it," Klopp told the club's website.

"[I] can't wait to get started, happy that we don't have to fly too far, to be honest, because [that's] a bit of a concern when you play Thursday and then you come back from wherever in Europe.

"There are some distances, I think, especially in the Europa League, which is really tricky. It could be really tricky so there we were a bit lucky.

"But with the teams we have to learn now, obviously. When I saw it I went through the squads directly and tried to figure out a little bit who I know, what I know already, but that's obviously not enough in the moment.

"But we have, what is it? Three weeks? We will be prepared. When we know [who we will play first] then we will prepare that team and then the others."
