EA FC 24 – Liverpool player ratings
For 30 years, the release of the new edition of EA Sports' FIFA franchise has been a hotly anticipated date on the football calendar, but 2023 is a little different.
This year sees EA go it solo without the FIFA branding for the first time, after the two parties failed to agree on a new licensing agreement. It means the game will no longer bear the FIFA name and will officially go by the new title EA Sports FC 24.
Don't worry though. FIFA may not have agreed a deal with EA to use its branding rights, but thousands of clubs, leagues, players etc have – so there won't be any danger of having to play with 'Merseyside Red' as old Pro Evo fans will remember having to do.
When will EA FC 24 be released?
The all-new EA FC 24 is set for release on Friday 29 September, with the first set of trailers released back in August.
While the branding may be all new, the features and the most-anticipated details are still there – and that includes the all-important player ratings.
Liverpool player ratings
While not yet officially announced, EA may have already let slip Liverpool's player ratings for EA FC 24.
In a Career Mode deep dive trailer released in August, Liverpool were among the various lineups and subs' benches shown (others included Tottenham, PSG and Newcastle) – with players' overall stats on full display – giving a strong indication of what to expect in the new game when it is finally released.
Here's how the 19 Reds players shown ranked, alongside a comparison to their FIFA 23 ratings (expect some downgrades after a difficult 2022/23 season).
- Alisson: 89 (0)
- Joe Gomez: 79 (-2)
- Ibrahima Konate: 81 (0)
- Virgil van Dijk: 88 (-2)
- Andrew Robertson: 86 (-1)
- Dominik Szoboszlai: 82 (+3)
- Alexis Mac Allister: 81 (+5)
- Curtis Jones: 77 (+1)
- Darwin Nunez: 82 (0)
- Cody Gakpo: 83 (0)
- Luis Diaz: 84 (0)
- Diogo Jota: 84 (-1)
- Harvey Elliott: 77 (+4)
- Stefan Bajcetic: 72 (+11)
- Joel Matip: 80 (-4)
- Kostas Tsimikas: 77 (0)
- Nat Phillips: 73 (0)
- Caoimhin Kelleher: 73 (0)
- Adrian: 71 OVR (-1)
Of the 19, only new signings Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, as well as youngsters Elliott and Bajcetic have experienced upgrades – with the young Spaniard, unsurprisingly, seeing the biggest boost in rating – while six players are shown to have received downgrades, including new captain Van Dijk. Meanwhile, poor Matip looks to have been given the biggest downgrade.
However, there is some dispute over the accuracy and finality of these ratings, however.
@FutSheriff has since leaked the top five rated Liverpool players for the EA FC 24 beta version, which shows Mohamed Salah (curiously not included in the EA trailer) as the highest-rated player with 90, followed by Alisson and Van Dijk on 89, Robertson on 87 and Alexander-Arnold on 86.
However, another leak from @FUT_scoreboard, has claimed some of the ratings are slightly different, and some brand new ratings have even been revealed.
- Trent Alexander-Arnold: 86 (-1)
- Virgil van Dijk: 89 (-1)
- Diogo Jota: 85 (0)
- Virgil van Dijk: 89 (-1)
- Alexis Mac Allister: 82 (+6)
- Thiago Alcantara: 84 (-2)
- Wataru Endo: 80 (+1)
- Ryan Gravenberch: 79 (0)
We may have to wait until release day for confirmation of the exact numbers, but for now we have a pretty strong indication of how Liverpool will look (and how good they will be to play with) in the new game.
