Dominik Szoboszlai names Liverpool player who has eased settling-in process

Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold has helped him get his Liverpool career off to a flying start as he continues to make a massive impression at Anfield after securing a transfer from RB Leipzig.

The midfielder, who recently celebrated his 23rd birthday, has already struck up a blossoming friendship with Alexander-Arnold, with whom he shares 'similar ideas' on and off the pitch. In an interview believed to be with BBC Sport (via Empire of the Kop), Szoboszlai elaborated on his relationship with the Liverpool vice-captain.

When asked to name a teammate who has played the biggest role in helping him settle in at the club seamlessly, he said: "You know the answer - it's Trent! We have the same ideas on and off the pitch. We hang out quite a lot. If on the pitch everything is fine and you understand each other, it's probably the same thing off the pitch."

The Hungary captain also made a bold claim about his aims for the 2023-24 campaign, suggesting that he wants to win every competition the Reds are a part of this season. He said (quotes via Daily Mail): "I want to win everything. It is never easy but no one will ask you how it feels to be second. This is how I think. Hopefully, everyone thinks like this. We have to work hard. When the players left no one was expecting how we started, how quickly we got to know each other and how well it goes. We are there for each other. We are a team."

Szoboszlai has hit the ground running at Liverpool since sealing a £60m transfer from Leipzig and has already scored two goals for the club, the second of which was an absolute screamer from outside the penalty area in the 3-1 Carabao Cup win against Leicester City in September. He has earned rave reviews for his performances this season, but the all-action midfielder believes he is nowhere close to being the finished product.

He added: "I can improve in everything. I am not a finished player. Of course, I can do everything almost but you can always be better and you always have to think like this. If you think this is your best prime, it is not. I can do even better.

"If I would come with any worries then it would not go like this. I came here like 'I can do it' - and I am doing it. But I don't say 'I did it' because I didn't. It's really early to say that. I'm doing it and hopefully, I can do it even more and for longer."
