Dejan Lovren shuts down Mohamed Salah Liverpool exit talk in best way possible

Liverpool legend, self-proclaimed best defender in the world and now transfer ITK to rival Fabrizio Romano: Dejan Lovren.

The former Reds centre back may have left Anfield in 2020 but he's still got the club's (and his bezzie mate's) best interests at heart.

Lovren waded into football transfer Twitter on Thursday to shut down the tiresome talk that Mohamed Salah could be on the way out of Anfield this summer.

After one aggregator repeated questionable claims from Relevo that Salah is keen to move to Al Ittihad (the Saudi Pro League club of Fabinho) after an offer to make him the country's best-paid player, Lovren replied in gif form with the caption 'stop lying'.

In truth, the 34-year-old Lyon centre back's humorous confirmation was hardly needed, with Salah's agent already clearly denying the possibility that Salah could change clubs this summer only a few weeks ago.

Writing on 7 August, Ramy Abbas posted on Twitter: "If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC."

Despite that, the links have continued. However, it seems clear there's (very) little to be worried about.

Lovren and Salah, who struck up a famous friendship during their time together on Merseyside, reunited earlier this summer with the Croatian posting an image of the pair rekindling their bromance on Instagram.

Lovren captioned the image: "After 3 long years not seeing each other…finally we found each other again."

After leaving Liverpool in 2020, Lovren made 63 appearances for Zenit St Petersburg across three seasons before joining Lyon last summer.
