Dean Huijsen is a wanted man after a brilliant first season in England.

The Dutch defender is on Liverpool's radar as well. Richard Hughes wants to bring in another centre-back, especially with the future of Ibrahima Konate up in the air.

As Anfield Watch revealed exclusively Paris Saint Germain are interested in signing the Liverpool defender as he enters the final year of his contract at the club.

But even if Konate's future is settled and he stays, Liverpool probably still need another addition at the back. Joe Gomez has been a loyal servant for the Reds but he has struggled with injuries over the last few years.

Behind Gomez, Jarell Quansah is the only other senior centre-back option under Arne Slot's disposal and it's up in the air what the future holds for him - with a loan spell perhaps on the agenda next season.

Amid all of this Huijsen seems like the perfect choice. Liverpool have admired him for a while. Hughes had started to monitor him at Bournemouth, keeping an eye on him while he was playing for Roma and Juventus.

Anfield Watch understands he then wanted to bring Huijsen in last summer but at the time Bournemouth's offer of regular playing time was more appealing for Huijsen.

Fast forward a year, the 20-year-old has now established himself as one of the best young defenders in European football.

Liverpool's interest remains with the club ready to do multiple transfers with Bournemouth as Milos Kerkez and Antoine Semenyo also remain on Hughes' agenda.

But it's not going to be easy to bring Huijsen to Anfield.

Huijsen has a £50m release clause that has attracted the attention of pretty much most of Europe's top clubs. In this day and age that figure is an absolute bargain for a player of Huijsen's profile.

Chelsea and a host of other clubs want to sign the Spanish senior international. He's basically spoilt for choice.

But according to talkSPORT, Huijsen has made his preference clear over which clubs he favours.

The report claims that Huijsen's preference is to move to Liverpool or Arsenal over Chelsea. It is said Chelsea have made the most advances for Huijsen so far but he has also held talks with the Reds, Tottenham and Arsenal.

And it's a move to Anfield or the Emirates that would be his top choice.
