David Ornstein rules out Liverpool January action
David Ornstein is the latest reporter to go on record to say that the Reds are unlikely to spend any money this month in the transfer window.
Liverpool are being linked with lots of players as ever this month, but there have been enough reports around already to suggest that no business is actually going to be conducted.
Indeed, according to Ornstein, that is absolutely the case, with him writing for The Athletic:
"It has been well documented that Liverpool were not planning on bringing anyone to Merseyside in this transfer window and as far as I know that is still the case."
Of course, the transfer rumour mill will still throw up stories that need to be discussed and debated but it does seem quite likely that there will be no arrivals on Merseyside this month and, indeed, it's quite possible there will be no senior exits as well.
Anfield Watch Verdict
This is hardly the most surprising report you're ever going to read.
Many well-established reporters have gone on record to say that this transfer window is going to be quiet from the Reds and this update from Ornstein only serves to confirm that further.
The club has been pretty reluctant to spend big in recent January windows gone by as they prefer to make big signings in the summer and there seems little need to change that way of thinking now.
Hopefully, though, the coming summer window is a bit more entertaining and the Reds can evolve the squad.
