Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is hopeful that Reds midfielder Thiago Alcantara will resume training within the next week, according to the Mirror's David Maddock, as cited by Watch LFC's Twitter account.

The Spaniard suffered a calf injury back in mid-September. Thiago has missed Liverpool's last seven games as a result.

But, the 30-year-old must be on the mend if Klopp is hopeful that he can return to training within the next week.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Thiago is a superb footballer. There is a reason why the midfielder has played for the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Footage of Thiago highlights that he is a superb passer of the football. The Spaniard has the ability to run games from the middle of the park.

Therefore, we look forward to seeing Thiago back out on the pitch. Only time will tell if the 30-year-old is fit enough to resume training within the next week.
