David Lynch provides an update on Harvey Elliott's fitness and it's good news

Journalist David Lynch has provided a fitness update on Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott.

The 18-year-old suffered a serious ankle injury against Leeds United at Elland Road back in September.

Elliott has not played a game of competitive football since. However, Lynch has confirmed that the Englishman is recovering well and could return to full training sometime next month.

The aforementioned news was cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Elliott is a very promising footballer. The 18-year-old has already made 13 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Elliott also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.59 in Liverpool's opening four 2021-22 Premier League fixtures.

Therefore, it was a shame to see the midfielder suffer a serious ankle back in September.

But, going by Lynch's update, we could see Elliott's name on Jurgen Klopp's teamsheet before the current season concludes.

Only time will tell if that is to be the case. We wish Elliott all the best with the remainder of his rehabilitation.
