Darwin Nunez problem RETURNS to rip up Arne Slot's plans
Darwin Nunez was a superstar against Southampton as he tells Arne Slot to pick him for Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain.
Darwin Nunez was absolutely brilliant for Liverpool against Southampton on Saturday. And the Reds needed him to be.

Liverpool went 1-0 down in a pedestrian first-half. They just couldn't get going, struggling for intensity and showing a very poor final ball.
That culminated in Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker both making mistakes for a Saints goal. Liverpool were 1-0 down going into half-time and things were pretty far from the plan.
The second half, though, was the absolute opposite. Liverpool came out of the break flying, with the intensity right back to where you'd hope.
Nunez was the one who took advantage. His first-half had been solid and featured some great centre-forward play - a few headers, some pressing, and just generally taking up good positions.
Liverpool then provided him with some chances. Luis Diaz assisted the first, finding Nunez with a cut-back for 1-1.

Then the Uruguayan won a penalty, forcing his way to the ball in Southampton's box and drawing a trip. Mo Salah converted and really, that put the game to bed.
And with it came a true headache for Arne Slot.
Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain
Nunez is back and he's brought the big problem with him. Should he start against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday?
On the face of it, he absolutely should. Nunez made the difference in Paris, providing Liverpool with a permanent out-ball and boasting the physicality that pushed PSG back.
The hosts had pushed right up against Liverpool before Nunez was on. They were happy to play one-vs-one against Diogo jota and Luis Diaz, comfortable in the knowledge that they'd win long balls up to them.

They weren't able to do that against Nunez, however. Liverpool's winner came from a high ball to the striker, who was able to hold off defenders, control it, and play in Harvey Elliott behind a panicking PSG backline.
And here he is against Southampton. Nunez again showed himself to be a proper striker, finding the space in the box when no one else could. It's two games in a row where he's been the difference for Liverpool.
So do you start him? Yes, right? But also, he's a massive risk because Nunez can absolutely cost you a game by spurning chances and failing to provide a proper threat.
This is the Nunez problem. Everything you see points to him being the choice but everything you know prevents you from wanting him up top.
The back-to-back performances make him the obvious choice. His form since arriving at Liverpool makes him far from the obvious choice.
It's a proper headache for Slot and we're really not sure what he's going to do. But it might be the biggest decision he makes this season.
