Man United vs Liverpool: Darts star Luke Littler SLAMMED for combined XI
Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has raised some eyebrows after producing a questionable combined XI ahead of Liverpool's mammoth clash with Manchester United.
Jurgen Klopp's title hopefuls go to Old Trafford hoping to avenge FA Cup heartbreak from a month prior, which saw Amad Diallo net a 120th minute winner to send United to Wembley.
And with an intense three-way title race expected during this season's run-in, they know that three points on Sunday could prove incredibly valuable in their quest to give Klopp the perfect parting gift.
Ahead of the contest, 17-year-old darts sensation Luke Littler had been asked to show off his football knowledge and give a combined XI of Liverpool and Manchester United players.
However, some of his takes have sent social media into an absolute frenzy. There's no prizes for guessing which team the teenagers aligns himself with.
Littler baffles fans with combined XI
Littler made no mistake by failing to chose the undeniable Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, while also picking Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay.
But things would quickly go downhill. Incredibly, Littler chose Diogo Dalot for the right-back spot over Trent Alexander-Arnold. Diogo Dalot.
It left fans questioning their own sanity, with one writing: "This is the second time I've seen someone select Dalot ahead of Trent, and I honestly don't know what these people are thinking. Am I losing my f***ing mind? It's not even close."
Littler then chose to leave signing of the season Alexis Mac Allister out of the XI entirely, opting for the United's whinging captain Bruno Fernandes instead.
Arguably the most in form player in the league right now, Mac Allister has 10 goal contributions in his last nine appearances. But for Littler, even that wasn't enough to earn a place in his sacred combined XI.
Elsewhere, the Darts World Championship runner-up chose Harry Maguire ahead of Reds youngster Jarrell Quansah, Kobbie Mainoo ahead of Wataru Endo, Ajenadro Garnacho over Luis Diaz and Rasmus Hojlund in place of Darwin Nunez.
This left United with a superior six players in the combined XI compared to Liverpool's five. For context, Liverpool are 22 points clear of the Red Devils in the Premier League, hunting down a 20th title while United's hopes of Champions League football continue to dwindle.
Stick to arrows, lad.
