Curtis Jones has admitted that nothing has changed in Liverpool's psyche following Jurgen Klopp's shocking announcement to step down as Liverpool manager.

Jones opened the scoring in Liverpool's 5-2 FA Cup romping of Norwich City on Sunday afternoon, latching onto full debutant James McConnell's cross to head home.

It was an emphatic performance by the Reds, fuelled by an Anfield in full voice, appearing relentless and unwavering in the face of adversity.

However, Jones believes the win was not fuelled by the news surrounding his manager - insisting that the mindset within the squad hasn't changed from what it was a week ago.

"Just carry on," Jones told ITV, speaking on how the team reacted to Klopp's announcement. "We have our goals that we've set and stuff, so nothing has changed.

"Of course it's sad for the whole of the club. But he's a man [as well as a manager] and that's his choice so we respect that.

"We'll just go with the flow."

Jones put in another impressive display against the Canaries, keeping things ticking in the midfield before his substitution in the 55th minute - indicating that he's being kept fresh for the Chelsea game in midweek.

The midfielder is delighted with his recent performances, feeling that after years of injury woes, he's finally found his best form in a Liverpool shirt.

Jones added: "I think so [that he's in his best form].

"I've been around the first team now for a long time and I'd definitely say this is the [best] point I'm at now – playing all the games, consistent as well.

"I'm happy, the team's happy so happy days all round."

On the wider performance, Jones was particularly relieved to see the Reds got through the contest largely unscathed injury-wise, with the club still competing in all four competitions.

"It was a perfect game," he said.

""There were loads of goals scored, we came off with the team [and] didn't have any injuries as well.

"We're into the next round. So, it's a good night overall."
