Conor Bradley described his Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold as 'probably the best player in the world at the moment' following the Reds win over Fulham on Wednesday night.

Liverpool came from behind to beat the Cottagers 2-1, with goals from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo helping Jurgen Klopp's side take an advantage into the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

Bradley played a starring role in the victory, filling in at right back and playing the full 90 minutes in the absence of the injured Alexander-Arnold, who was ruled out of the tie with a knee issue.

Despite making only his fifth appearance of the 2023/24 season (second start), the 20-year-old Northern Ireland international impressed in the semi under the lights.

Bradley won the most tackles of any player on the pitch (six), created two chances and contested an impressive 21 duels, as per FotMob.

'Doesn't look great'

After the game, Klopp joked that Bradley had exhausted himself with his all-action display, saying: "A top boy. Today was pretty intense for him. Somebody has to drive him home hopefully because he really is sitting in the dressing room and doesn't look great!

"He gave his absolute everything and it's just so nice to see, it's really so nice to see. And the next is sitting outside on the bench already. That's really cool that he could show how good he already is and, of course, so much more to come."

Meanwhile, despite grabbing the limelight with his performance, Bradley was quick to praise the man he'd been filling for, calling Liverpool's vice captain the best player in the world on form.

Speaking after the game, the full back said: “Trent's obviously the best right-back in the world at the moment, probably the best player in the world at the moment with the way he’s playing.

“He’s a big miss but I just tried to do everything I could to fill in for him and thankfully we got the win.”

Bradley – who made just his tenth senior appearance for Liverpool in Wednesday's win – could be set for a run in the team, with Alexander-Arnold out of action for 'a few weeks'.

The No. 66 suffered ligament damage in the FA Cup third round win over Arsenal, with Pep Lijnders confirming the injury prior to the Fulham game.
