"Connect with them" - Trent Alexander-Arnold on the pre-season tour support

Trent Alexander-Arnold has thanked all the Liverpool fans around the world for their continued support.

Speaking after the club's friendly against Crystal Palace last week, the right-back talked about the support the players have received on their pre-season tour.

“Over the last two years, playing a lot behind closed doors, any amount of fans means the world to us. But for us to have a nearly full stadium – the majority being our fans as well – the support was incredible," Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com.

“It has been the whole trip. Just a massive thanks to everyone who has come out, all the support, people watching at home. We understand that we play at difficult times for the people in Asia.

“So it’s good for us to come out here, see them, connect with them and let them know we’re always thinking about them. A big thank you to them and everyone who supports us around the world.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

As someone who has followed Liverpool home and away for years, it's always nice to see Reds fans from other countries who don't have the opportunity to watch them at Anfield get the chance.

I think fans from Europe really take for granted how dedicated the worldwide fan base is. Games for them could start at 3am and they'd make the effort to watch Liverpool.

That's not just a once in a while thing either, as the Reds often have to play three times in a week.

Hopefully Liverpool can keep up their pre-season tours abroad and give our fans from other countries a surreal experience that they will never forget.

It was also crazy watching the training sessions which recently took place in Asia. The stadiums were pretty much full just to watch Jurgen Klopp's Reds do some light warmups.

I don't think you'd get that in England.
