Jurgen Klopp has made four changes for the visit of Newcastle United in the Premier League tonight, with Luis Diaz and Dominik Szoboszlai returning to the starting lineup.

The Reds are looking to move further clear at the top of the table at Anfield, building on a comfortable 2-0 win against Burnley on Boxing Day.

With Arsenal having lost 2-1 to Fulham on New Year's Eve, the Reds have the chance to move three points clear of second, albeit third-placed Manchester City have a game in hand.

Unsurprisingly, Klopp has gone for a strong starting lineup in Liverpool's final Premier League game until 21 January, making four changes from Turf Moor.

LIVERPOOL STARTING LINEUP VS NEWCASTLE

Alisson keeps his place in the starting lineup and may be called upon frequently against the Magpies, while Ibrahima Konate returns to partner Virgil van Dijk in front of the Brazilian.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be hoping for a more fruitful encounter with Newcastle than in the reverse fixture, while Joe Gomez steps in at left-back once again for the injured Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

There are two changes from the midfield that faced Burnley, with Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai coming in to replace Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch. Wataru Endo starts in his final game before the Asian Cup.

Mohamed Salah will also be jetting off for the Africa Cup of Nations after Newcastle's visit, but starts yet again on the right flank.

Luis Diaz returns on the left to replace Cody Gakpo, while Darwin Nunez, fresh from his lovely goal against the Clarets, starts up top.

In good news for Liverpool, Alexis Mac Allister returns to the bench after missing almost a month of action, while Diogo Jota, Gakpo, Elliott and Gravenberch could all feature.

CONFIRMED LIVERPOOL XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Szoboszlai, Endo, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.

Substitutes: Kelleher, Quansah, Bradley, McConnell, Gravenberch, Elliott, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Jota.
