It was a statement win, one which stunned Premier League rivals through the constant waves of attacks and controlling ease throughout the whole game.

Now, the Reds face their North West rivals Manchester United in a blockbuster clash today at 4:30pm (live on Sky Sports in the UK).

Arne Slot’s side will look to add to Ruben Amorim’s woes as the Red Devils find themselves 14th in the Premier League having lost their last three Premier League games and failing to score in these games too.

Apart from the weather which could potentially call the game off, it’s set to be a bleak midwinter for Amorim and his side, but Liverpool shouldn’t assume that this will be an easy contest.

Here's how the Liverpool lineup looks vs Manchester United.

GK - Alisson Becker

Didn’t have much to do last Saturday, will be happy to have kept his first clean sheet in the Premier League since his return and is looking to replicate the same form this weekend.

RB - Trent Alexander-Arnold

The Scouse-born Red has been splashed all over the front pages this week with his future at the club in serious doubt. But all of that has to be forgotten on Sunday. Arne Slot publicly stated that Trent will start this weekend and we need him to put in one of his iconic performances like he has done so many times for us before.

CB - Ibrahima Konate

The Frenchman is back from injury and ready to resume a sensational season. The Reds can once again call on their best cente-back pairing for one of the biggest games of the entire campaign.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

Captain Colossal will have a big task on his hands. Having to tutor the inexperienced Quansah, he has stood firm this season while his central defensive partners have chopped and changed.

LB - Andy Robertson

This feels like a game where the Scottish international will need to be at his best. He was fairly solid against West Ham but again had some shaky moments. These need to stop rapidly and this game is one where he can win back some reputation as the Reds' firm left-back option.

CM - Ryan Gravenberch

Another assured performance last week from our midfield maestro. The way he dictates play is beautiful on the eye. Will be looking to shine once again this weekend.

CM - Alexis Mac Allister

What a performance last week from the little Argentinian. Puts his heart and soul into every game, fighting for every ball and never seems to be happy with any performance. Always striving for more, he will look to utilise his intensity to tire United’s under-fire midfield.

CM - Curtis Jones

Dominik Szoboszlai is supposedly ill, meaning Curtis Jones is comfortably in a starting role for this one. Been a big season for Jones and Liverpool can celebrate facing United with two Scousers in the team.

RW - Mohamed Salah

What more can we say about this man? He seems to break a record every week we have now lost count. United’s biggest tormentor, he has scored 12 goals against our fiercest rivals and with his confidence this high, it wouldn’t be surprising if this tally increased.

LW - Cody Gakpo

The man is always a threat. He constantly looks to make things happen and push the Reds up the pitch. He is really cementing himself as a guaranteed starter. Will have fond memories against United after scoring twice in the 7-0 demolition job in 2023.

ST - Luis Diaz

We think this front three speaks for itself. Diaz hungers for goals with a childlike spirit and tenacity, he never seems to run out of energy. He is really finding himself in that striker role evident in his fantastic finish last weekend. He keeps Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota on the bench.
