Liverpool FC News: Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson share wholesome encounter after Scotland thrashing
Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson were quick to put any competitive rivalry behind them after Saturday's international friendly between the Netherlands and Scotland.
It wasn't the best outing for Scotland skipper Robertson, who saw his side succumb to a 4-0 thrashing in Amsterdam.
However, one Liverpool man's pain is another one's gain, with Cody Gakpo providing a brace of assists for the hosts in a fantastic performance.
It acts as a timely confidence boost for Gakpo, who has come under fire from fans and critics alike after a string of underwhelming performances for the Reds.
And while surely dismayed after finding himself on the wrong end of a heavy beating, Robertson couldn't help express his joy when bumping into his club teammate in the tunnel after full-time.
The Liverpool pair swapped shirts before sharing a joke and a friendly embrace, leaving all rivalry on the Johann Cruyff ArenA pitch.
With the cameras following Gakpo post-match, he jokingly tries to cover the lens as Robertson takes off his shirt.
The Scot fires back by saying: "Don't knock this pasty body." And Gakpo, not willing to hear Robbo slander himself, rebuttals by simply saying: "God body."
Scotland will hope to get back to winning ways on Tuesday as they take on Northern Ireland - while the Netherlands will seek to keep up their strong form ahead of the Euros, taking on Germany in midweek in a fixture that always promises entertainment.
