Fulham's owner, Tony Khan, has confirmed that his side have sold Fabio Carvalho amid links that the 19-year-old will become a Liverpool player next season.

Speaking to The Athletic, as cited by the Liverpool Echo, Khan confirmed that Fulham have agreed a deal that will see Carvalho depart Craven Cottage this summer.

"I really like Fabio," said Khan. "He’s a player we have always rated, coming out of the academy and we would have loved to have kept him.

"But we have made a deal that is best for the club and since that agreement, it’s worked out wonderfully because he has been such a valuable part of promotion.

"Marco has done a great job with him. They have a great relationship and Fabio has been tremendous for us. He’s a huge part of the squad and it’s a massive loss but, because we have done good business, we can do good business to make sure we are strong in that position."

Anfield Watch Verdict

There have been a lot of reports from credible journalists in the past few months confirming that Carvalho will be joining Liverpool from Fulham this summer.

In his monthly column for Anfield Watch, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 19-year-old had already visited the AXA Training Centre ahead of completing his medical for Liverpool.

Liverpool will pay around £5m plus £2.7m in add-ons, including a sell-on clause for 20% of Carvalho's future sale.

Speaking after Fulham were crowned winners of the Championship, Carvalho spoke about his future saying 'We'll see what happens'.

“We'll see what happens," said Carvalho. "Right now, I'm just trying to enjoy the moment and I can't thank these fans enough. We'll see what happens."

Hopefully with his arrival this summer, Carvalho can shine as a Liverpool player as much as he has with Fulham.
