A change in Liverpool's stance over the future of Nathaniel Phillips has led to his move to AFC Bournemouth, Neil Jones of Goal has reported.

The centre-half has had a tough season this year with him unable to build on the game time that he had last campaign.

That always seemed possible, too, with the options that Liverpool have available normally and so it has proven.

He's heading to Bournemouth, then, and Neil Jones has revealed that the Reds' change in stance has paved the way for this:

Anfield Watch Verdict

No-one wanted to pay up for Phillips at this moment in time and so the decision has been made to at least give him a bit of playing time for the rest of the season.

It was always going to be hard for him this year, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk back fit.

Now, though, he gets the opportunity to play some more in the coming weeks of the campaign.
