Cafu and Roberto Carlos rank Mohamed Salah ahead of Son and Haaland
Brazil legends Cafu and Roberto Carlos have praised Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
The 30-year-old has won the Premier League Golden Boot on three separate occasions during his time at Anfield, which provides an insight into how good of a player he is.
Cafu and Carlos were asked to rank (forwards) Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Tottenham Hotspur's Son and Salah. Both of their answers read well for the Egyptian international.
“Mohamed Salah, Son and then Haaland three,” Cafu told UMM.
“The first is Mohamed Salah, Son is second, then after, Haaland,” added Carlos.
Anfield Watch Verdict
We would not be surprised if Salah claimed the Premier League Golden Boot again next season.
The reality is, the winger is an elite forward. Salah has scored 156 goals and registered 63 assists in 254 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.
The 30-year-old also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.42 across the 2021-22 campaign.
If anything, Haaland's arrival will only inspire Salah to improve. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has stated in the past that the forward is a "workhorse". Salah is always looking to get better.
"He was not the finishing monster we see now (when he first signed). I was incredibly excited to work with him," Klopp said, as quoted by BBC Sport.
"You need longer to know the person. The moment I knew it would be outstanding was when I knew him as a person. He was a workhorse. He is the first in to train, maybe James Milner beats him from time to time. And he’s the last out.
"He deserves it, absolutely."
We are looking forward to seeing Salah back in action. There is nothing better than watching the best players in the world.
We wish Salah and the Reds all the best ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
