Liverpool transfer news: Mo Salah heir 'open' to summer move
Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane hasn't ruled out a potential summer exit amid interest from Liverpool should Mohamed Salah leave for Saudi Arabia.
The former Manchester City winger has been back to his electric best with Die Roten this season, producing eight goals and 11 assists in 20 Bundesliga appearances this term.
Bayern are currently fighting for the title with potential future Liverpool manager Xabi Alonso and his Bayer Leverkusen side, with Sane having been crucial to the Bavarians' performances this campaign.
As a result of his stellar displays, the 59-cap Germany international has been attracting interest from Liverpool, eyed as a potential successor to Salah should he leave for the Saudi Pro League this summer.
The Egyptian's future remains uncertain amid Jurgen Klopp's departure, while his contract also expires in 2025. If Liverpool can't agree on a new deal, they will have to cash in on the superstar.
German football journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Sane is one of the Reds' priority targets if Salah departs, with the Bayern forward yet to make his mind up on his future in Bavaria.
Writing for CaughtOffside, Falk stated: "Leroy Sane is aware that he is on the Reds’ list if Mohamed Salah leaves for Saudi Arabia.
"His contract in Munich runs until 2025. His future is open. He changed also his management a few weeks ago. He doesn’t rule out a transfer in the summer."
The 28-year-old would be the right kind of profile to replace Salah- an experienced, left-footed player with energetic pace and an eye for goal.
However, Salah remains truly irreplaceable for the Reds, with Liverpool potentially seeking a younger heir to the Egyptian's throne.
There is no guarantee that Salah won't extend his stay at Anfield either, with Sane only a target for Liverpool in the event of the 31-year-old's exit.
With no successor for Klopp lined up yet, a lot of this summer's transfer plans remain dependent on who arrives in the Liverpool dugout ahead of next season.
