Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has praised Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The 50-year-old said that the Scouser is a "brilliant" right-back. However, Keane further added that Alexander-Arnold still has room for improvement.

Keane said the following about Alexander-Arnold on ITV (7:19pm, November 15, 2021): “Again, he is 23. He is learning about the game. Sometimes you do have to adapt if you want to get in.

“You talk about him as a wing-back. I think he can play that role, but obviously his strength is at right-back.

“He is brilliant at it, he is absolutely brilliant it, but he is 23. He is still learning about the game. He is not at his peak yet.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We completely agree with Keane's comments regarding Alexander-Arnold.

The 23-year-old has had some sort of start to his career. Alexander-Arnold has scored 11 goals and registered 50 assists in 191 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The Scouser has also won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title with the Reds.

The aforementioned figures and achievements highlight that Alexander-Arnold has been a very good player for Liverpool thus far.

However, due to the defender's age, he certainly still has room for improvement. Therefore, we look forward to watching Alexander-Arnold's game grow over the next few years.

The England international has started the 2021-22 Premier League campaign well. Alexander-Arnold is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.70 in the early stages of the season.
