Liverpool have received an offer for Ben Doak from a Premier League club. Will they accept it?

The Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel reports that Crystal Palace have bid for Liverpool winger Ben Doak. Doak is currently off on loan at Middlesbrough.

He's thriving there, too. Doak has been one of the most productive forward players in the Championship this season - not bad for someone in his first full senior season.

The 18-year-old has made headlines for Scotland, too, and certainly looks to be a player on the up. But will Liverpool see it that way?

Palace certainly do and have supposedly put £15m on the table to sign Doak this month. Any deal would likely see his loan cut short, with the Eagles bringing him to the club permanently.

Liverpool, though, hold the cards here. Let's see what they do.

Ben Doak's future at Liverpool

What is certainly clear is that Doak wants to be playing regular first-team football. Reports this week suggested he wants it at Liverpool, too.

But how likely is that? Unfortunately for Doak, he plays on the same flank as Mo Salah, who doesn't look like dropping out of the team anytime soon.

There is a possibility that he could hold out for Salah's inevitable decline, assuming that comes in the next couple of years. Doak would then be well-positioned to take over the role on the right.

But not if Liverpool accept this bid. That would be a sign to Doak that the Reds don't see him as a viable option for the long-term and certainly not as their successor to Salah.

Couple that with rumours of interest in Tyler Dibling at Southampton and we'd say there's a lot to think about here. However, we don't know the full extent of this bid.

There's no chance it's just a flat £15m and Palace would almost certainly try to tempt Liverpool with add-ons and future fee percentages. Will that be enough to get the deal done, though?

Let's wait and see.
