Barcelona sporting director gives GREEN light for Liverpool to sign special right-back
Liverpool now have a green light to sign a very special talent from Barcelona amid the latest activity from the Catalans.
There's a thin sliver of hope that Trent Alexander-Arnold might just stay at Anfield this summer. However, with Real Madrid heavily pursuing the right-back, those hopes are fading as each day passes.

The longer Alexander-Arnold takes to make up his mind and sign a new deal at Liverpool, the more likely it will be for him to leave the club for pastures new and join Real Madrid.
And if that happens, Liverpool will left with a difficult choice to make.
Replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be an easy task. There's no one like him in world football. The chances are Liverpool will have to find multiple replacements and aggregate out his impact in the team.

Deco opens to the door to Hector Fort deal
According to the latest reports, Barcelona's sporting director, Deco is set to win the race to sign AS Monaco's right-back Vanderson.
Barcelona are already well stacked in the right-back department with Jules Kounde. But Deco wants to bolster the Catalans' options and sees Vanderson as the ideal solution to provide competition for Kounde.
But while this is good news for Barcelona fans in general, it will be bad news for the club's 18-year-old young talent, Hector Fort.
The Spanish youth international has been Kounde's understudy this season and he is very highly rated. Although it seems like Deco does not consider him a genuine option for the club.
Deco's actions now pretty much give the green light for Liverpool to try to pursue a deal for the young defender who could be an ideal addition in the absence of Alexander-Arnold.
Despite his young age, Fort comes with plenty of experience and he's very much tailor made for the high intensity possession based football introduced by Arne Slot at Anfield this season.
He's of course a little bit raw and there's plenty for him to improve on but he's got plenty of time to get better and reach his prime.
His current contract at Barcelona expires in the summer of 2026 which means now is the time for Richard Hughes to strike a deal and get a favourable price for Fort with just one year left on his contract at Barcelona.
It's a move that would make sense on many fronts for Liverpool and perhaps heal the Alexander-Arnold wounds a little bit by securing one of the best young prospects in European football in the right-back position.

If the Vanderson deal is indeed completed, then this is a move to watch.
