Barcelona are reportedly preparing to make an approach for one of Liverpool's stars who has been described as an 'unbelievable' player in the past.

There's now only a couple of weeks left of the transfer window, but it feels things are only just about to take off for Liverpool.

The loss of Martin Zubimendi comes as a significant blow with the Spanish international now opting to remain at Real Sociedad.

Negotiations continue for Giorgi Mamardashvili and other targets are also being pursued.

But it's not just incomings that are to be expected. Liverpool are also going to be active in sales from now until the end of the month.

Barcelona to make Luis Diaz approach

There could even be some surprise departures at the club. Luis Diaz looked lively in Arne Slot's first game at Anfield against Sevilla over the weekend.

Diaz is highly rated at the club and was described as an 'unbelievable' player by Conor Bradley in an interview with LFCTV last season.

However, his long-term future at the club has been in doubt for a while. It's not secret Diaz would be open to a move away from Liverpool, with Barcelona having previously been reported to be keen in the winger's services.

However, so far the Catalans have been focused on signing Nico Williams. With no breakthrough in negotiations for the Spanish international, Mundo Deportivo has now reported that Barcelona could turn its attention back to Diaz.

The club's officials see Diaz as a more affordable alternative to Williams and the report claims that Barcelona could now look to test Liverpool's resolve by making an approach for the Colombian from now until the end of the window.
