Portugal and Atletico Madrid superstar Joao Felix was seen in the Liverpool end at the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Chelsea vs Liverpool was the first big trophy of the English season and there were a lot of footballers in attendance. Either as fans or neutral spectators.

One player people didn't expect to see at Wembley was Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix.

The 22-year-old was pictured in the Liverpool end at the EFL Cup final, all be it with his hood up, sunglasses on and a mask covering his face.

In a tweet by Watch LFC, Felix posted on his Instagram story a photo of him and his friends in attendance at the Carabao Cup final.

Anfield Watch Verdict

The Atletico Madrid forward was previously linked with a move to Anfield in 2021, according to FourFourTwo.

However, that move clearly never materialised and Felix still seems to be a part of Diego Simeone's side.

The thing that Liverpool and Chelsea fans are probably going to jump to straight away is the possibility of him being there due to a future transfer.

That is a possibility with both clubs being previously linked to the Portuguese forward.

A potential transfer makes more sense for Liverpool with them currently going through a revamp of their forward line and bringing Felix in could be the final piece of the puzzle.

His price tag will be a massive issue for the Reds, with Atletico signing him for £114m in 2019, but in the past Liverpool have paid big for the right player.

The most likely reason why Felix was at Wembley was to watch his friend and international teammate Diogo Jota play.

With the 22-year-old being included in Atletico Madrid's most recent game against Celta Vigo on the 26th of February, a transfer does not seem imminent for Felix.
