Arsenal are set to be without striker Gabriel Jesus for their FA Cup third round tie with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are sweating over the fitness of the Brazilian after he sustained a knee injury.

The severity of the issue is currently unclear, but it is hoped that Jesus' injury will not leave him sidelined long-term, given how many fitness problems the striker has had since his Emirates arrival.

Jesus has an unfortunate history with knee problems, having missed the opening weeks of this season due a knee problem, as well as previously missing three months of last season after undergoing surgery on the joint.

Nevertheless, this development means it is extremely unlikely that Jesus will feature against the Reds in their FA Cup clash in the coming hours.

It acts as a major blow for Mikel Arteta, who is hoping to get back to winning ways after losing two league games on the bounce, stuttering in their push for the Premier League title.

Adding to the Gunners' injury problems, Jesus joins former Manchester City star Oleksandr Zinchenko on the treatment table, along with Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira and Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal will also be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, who similar to Liverpool's Wataru Endo is on Asian Cup duty with Japan.

On top of Endo, Liverpool also have their fair share of absentees going into the clash.

Dominik Szoboszlai is the latest to make the injury list after picking up a hamstring injury against Newcastle, and will thus not feature at the Emirates.

He joins Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic and Joel Matip in the rehabilitation room.

The Reds will also face the headache of no Mohamed Salah, with their top scorer having departed for AFCON, representing Egypt.
