Arne Slot's biggest strength backed by incredible stat
Arne Slot’s first season as the Liverpool manager couldn’t be going much better.
The Reds currently sit pretty at the summit of the Premier League, the Champions League phase and remain in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
A season of transition to a new voice’s demands couldn’t have gone any smoother up to now and it’s been six months of learning the Dutchman’s ways after years of the legendary Jurgen Klopp.

Much of Slot’s work overlaps with the philosophy Klopp instilled during his tenure but this direct approach, mixed with immense patience in build-up and a manager not shy of making ruthless decisions is why Liverpool are currently the best side in the continent.
The ruthless element of Slot gained plaudits from his first Premier League outing at Ipswich Town back in August.
Supporters were made aware that Slot isn’t scared to make subs at any minute if he believes it’ll benefit his side and it only took 45 minutes for him to make an eye-opening swap.
The Dutchman withdrew Jarell Quansah for Ibrahima Konate at half-time due to the lack of duels his side were winning prior to the interval.
As a result, Liverpool went on to produce a dominant second-half display against the Premier League newcomers, coming out 2-0 winners.
It became clear from then that Arne Slot’s tactical tweaks and awareness during games that ultimately spearhead his sides to three points is one of his biggest strengths.
Slot’s biggest strength backed up by one stat
It’s not been the most smooth-sailing start to 2025 for Liverpool having only won two of their first five games but one stat has risen that further emphasises Slot’s strengths to make the right changes at the right times in football games.
All of Liverpool’s last five goals have been scored by substitutes – Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa against Accrington Stanley, Diogo Jota at Nottingham Forest, and Darwin Nunez with two at Brentford on Saturday.
This can also be added to with the fact Kostas Tsimikas, Trey Nyoni, Harvey Elliott have all come off the bench to provide assists in Liverpool’s last three outings.
