There's a special talent at Anfield who will be unleashed imminently by Arne Slot in Liverpool's first team.

The Dutchman hasn't really been as eager to dip into the Reds' academy and give young players a chance in the senior team since arriving at the club.

For Slot, there are different requirements for a young player to be given an opportunity as opposed to Jurgen Klopp, who very happily handed chances out to academy graduates.

Under Slot, it has become apparent that he does not like to rotate his team. Even fringe first team players have not been given as many opportunities as in previous seasons.

This has impacted academy talents as well. Slot has made it clear that you only warrant a spot in the team if you show him that you deserve it and that you are capable of offering more or at least the same as the players ahead of you in the pecking order.

Slot wants his youngsters to be ready for the challenges of senior football and he's been grooming one player in particular for exactly that all season.

Why Arne Slot is about to unleash Trey Nyoni

In pre-season young Nyoni got a lot of playing time under Slot. He even scored in Liverpool's final pre-season game at Anfield. However, in the regular season, Nyoni has been reduced to just 225 minutes across five appearances in the first team.

This is despite being a regular member of the first team squad. He's pretty much training exclusively with the first team and was again spotted in action at the AXA training centre, rubbing shoulders with the club's senior players ahead of Liverpool's derby game against Everton.

In addition to that he's been on the bench a further seven times without making an appearance.

It's clear that Nyoni is highly rated by Slot. He's by far the most involved of any of Liverpool's other young stars.

He's an extraordinary talent who is only 17 years old but has already been recognised by Jurgen Klopp and Slot for his exciting potential.

Liverpool are approaching the end of the season. There is a strong possibility the league title can be wrapped up within the next few weeks, giving Slot an opportunity to look ahead of the future for the Reds' remaining matches.

With Nyoni continuing to be involved in first team training that should be his opportunity to make a mark. Slot will undoubtedly unleash him in the Premier League and reward him for the hard work he put in all season.

At such a young age, he's an incredibly gifted talent, who has the ability to be an important cog in Slot's midfield machine for years to come.

Nyoni reads the game well, he's technically sublime and has the vision and awareness to pick out the right passes at all times as well as the one vs one ability to make surging runs from midfield.

Physically, he has time to develop and become stronger but already he's got the key foundations that mean he's ready to make an impact in senior football now.
