Arne Slot has created ANOTHER Liverpool star that no one predicted
The Liverpool boss is performing miracles at Anfield as he turns players into stars. Ryan Gravenberch was the first - but he's certainly not the last.
A lot has been made of Ryan Gravenberch this season and rightly so. The Dutchman's form took off under Arne Slot and he might just be the best holding midfielder on the planet right now.
But the last few weeks have shown off another incredible development. Curtis Jones has suddenly become not just a key player but a star one.

His partnership with Gravenberch against Chelsea was superb and genuinely looked unstoppable. Jones was the best player on the pitch, earning a penalty and scoring the winner. Front to back, he played a near-perfect match.
He then played a slightly different role against Arsenal, further forward where Dominik Szoboszlai usually operates. It was a difficult game for the Reds - but Jones offered them security.
The Scouser stepped up with a secure display, misplacing just one pass in 90 minutes at the Emirates. That was on top of winning all his tackles (3).Arn
It was a similar story against RB Leipzig. Jones only played 16 minutes and they were minutes where Liverpool needed control and security. He offered exactly that - 15 passes from 15 as they saw out the win.
Against Brighton? Another new position - a forward. Jones actually ended up playing as a centre-forward, an attacking midfielder, and a sitting midfielder. His passing was again on point as Liverpool won.
Here was another match against Brighton and again, Jones delivered what Liverpool needed. He was the one who broke through their pressing lines to create the second goal, driving forward and playing a give-and-go before sharing the ball with Mo Salah to win the game.
And once again, he did it without misplacing a pass.
Arne Slot does it again
Jones and Gravenberch were both near-after thoughts last season. They were unreliable, inconsistent players who didn't quite star in games.
This season? They're unquestionably Liverpool's best midfielders. They're delivering the control and the line-breaking that Slot needs in his team and they're doing it at world-class levels.
Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Brighton (x2); it's been an incredible run of games for Liverpool. Gravenberch and Jones have been up there with the very best as the Reds saw off great teams.
Jones, in particular, has been delivering moments to win matches. And as we say about Gravenberch, if he's doing this now at 23 after just a couple of months under Slot, what's he going to be doing by the end of the season?
No one saw these two being genuine stars for Liverpool but it's exactly what they are right now. The heartbeat of this team in midfield - we're not sure how Slot's done it.
