Antonee Robinson has confirmed he is ready to make the step-up to Liverpool after his brilliant performance at Craven Cottage.

It was a perfect summer's day in the capital as the sun beamed in on the emerald green turf at Fulham's home ground. But while the weather was a 10/10, the performance from Liverpool certainly was not.

Arne Slot's men tasted defeat in the Premier League for the first time in 26 matches and they only had themselves to blame.

They had taken the lead in the opening few minutes of the game through Alexis Mac Allister.

But then they allowed Fulham to take control of the match by gifting them goals through poor defensive errors that have been very uncharacteristic from a side that has dominated the Premier League this season.

Conversely, this was the perfect result for Fulham. Defensively, they limited the Reds and most importantly minimised the impact of the Reds' best player.

EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ENTER Hugo Ekitike talks

In many parts thanks to the brilliant performance of Antonee Robinson.

Why Antonee Robinson has confirmed he's ready to join Liverpool

The USMNT international has had a couple of brilliant performances against the Reds recently, and in particular he's had a few games where he has 'locked up' Salah on Liverpool's right-wing.

This time around it was very much the same again from Robinson. The Fulham defender won four out of six duels, made three interceptions, five recoveries and eight clearances in this match.

Most importantly, he limited Salah's impact to just one shot and two chances created. The Egyptian also lost seven duels in this match and won just one.

Robinson has been linked with a move to Liverpool and it's not a secret that Richard Hughes is looking for a left-back to replace Andy Robertson.

With a performance like that Robinson has definitely confirmed he's ready to make the step-up to Anfield.

In fact the 27-year-old might just be the perfect option. He's registered 10 assists already this season and he's not just effective going forward but he can limit the impact of the league's best player in Salah as well.

Turning 28 at start of next season, Robinson might not be Liverpool's obvious signing. He is outside of the mould of players FSG like to buy.

But he's ready made. He's not a project player. He has shown he can perform immediately from the get go and he'll be in his prime for the next few years at the very least.

Signing him would make a lot of sense. Salah would undoubtedly endorse it based on the last couple of matches he's had to face him.

The Liverpool star would surely love to have Robinson as a teammate rather than as an opponent, even if that means coming up against him week in week out in training.
