Anfield boasts Premier League's cheapest ticket

An investigation into Premier League ticket prices has revealed that Anfield has the cheapest adult ticket available in the whole of the division.

Ticket prices have long been a source of controversy at Anfield and beyond, but Liverpool can now at least lay claim to the most economical view of Premier League action out there – even if it's not quite the view you'd want.

An investigation by The Athletic has found that Anfield has the cheapest Premier League ticket on offer, with a select few in the Main Stand on offer at an eyebrow-raisingly low £9.

That price makes them by far the most economical in the entire Premier League, at £14 cheaper than the next least pricey (Chelsea and Burnley). Meanwhile, Everton's cheapest available seat is the most expensive in the Premier League at £55.

The big caveat as pointed out by the article is that there are very few seats available at this price point and the view is 'heavily restricted ' by a pillar. Tickets outside the restricted view zone within the Main Stand go for £54, by contrast.

Tickets are also notoriously hard to come by for fans without season tickets and those wishing to get a chance of viewing the match from behind the pillar need first be members and then enter a ballot.

Interestingly, Liverpool's most expensive home tickets are listed at £60 – the fifth-cheapest in the league (excluding Luton whose prices aren't covered). Meanwhile, Chelsea's most expensive home ticket sits at a whopping £240 – a league high.

At £36.99 it is also noted that Liverpool's cost of annual membership is on the cheaper side in the league, with Crystal Palace's the most expensive at £60.

Liverpool have yet to play a game at full capacity this season amid delays to the completion of the Anfield Road End expansion. The Reds CEO Billy Hogan has claimed the club are hopeful of completing the redevelopment work by October, after the contractor – Buckingham group – filled for administration.
