Andy Robertson has revealed that Mohamed Salah remained professional and committed to Liverpool despite receiving an eye-watering offer from Al-Ittihad.

Salah was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and reportedly received two offers to leave Liverpool, but the Reds stood firm on their stance that he wasn't for sale this summer. Speaking to TNT Sport after Liverpool's 3-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers - in which Salah provided two assists - Robertson lauded the Egyptian winger for his conduct throughout the transfer saga.

He said (quotes via 90 min): "During the speculation, I thought he was superb on the pitch and there was a lot of talk outside it. Now that's all done and dusted, I thought he put in a good second-half performance like we all did, first-half we all were not at it.

"He probably only gets credit when he gets goals which is slightly unfair, but he's got us two assists today, he's got us back in the game, created chances and second half he was really good."

Robertson scored his first Liverpool goal since May 2022 by applying the finishing touches to a brilliant pass from Salah late in the game. When asked about his goal, Robertson once again heaped praise on Salah, this time for his ability to pick a pass.

He said: "I don't get many goals so it's always nice to score, we knew they were quick on counter-attacks and corners so we had to be alert, and I know Mo can pick a pass so I got in there and luckily slotted it in. I'm delighted for the goal, crucial for us to get our noses in front."

Robertson was Liverpool's captain in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and capped off a fine display with a well-taken goal. Salah, on the other hand, notched up his fourth assist of the season as he once again showcased his playmaking abilities in a tricky away game. Both players are expected to be on the bench in midweek as Liverpol travel to Austria to take on LASK in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.
