Andy Robertson issues Takumi Minamino verdict after up and down few days

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has praised the resilience of attacker Takumi Minamino after the Japanese international put the disappointment of his miss against Arsenal behind him with a win over Brentford.

Minamino is one of the players we're looking at to fill the sizeable void left by Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane who are at AFCON at the moment, and he had a chance to be a match-winner on Thursday in the dying embers of the clash.

However, he skied over an open goal from yards away to the shock of The Kop and that will have obviously hurt him.

He bounced back well on Sunday, though, as he tapped home against Brentford to seal a 3-0 victory, after good work from Roberto Firmino, and Andy Robertson has praised the player on the LFC website:

Anfield Watch Verdict

Minamino is a player that has plenty to offer going forwards and hopefully he can show that more in the coming weeks.

His miss against Arsenal was a bad one but he responded well on Sunday and now he'll be looking to right the wrong further this Thursday against the Gunners once more.

He's been important in our EFL Cup run so far, let's see if he can get another big goal at the Emirates.
