Andrew Robertson has delivered a definitive response on the rumours linking Mohamed Salah with a move to Saudi Arabia, insisting the Egyptian is going nowhere.

Though the transfer deadline has now officially passed for European clubs, Saudi Arabia have until Thursday 7 September to complete deals, meaning speculation is rife that Salah could still make a last-minute switch to the Middle East.

Jurgen Klopp's stance has been clear ever since the beginning; Liverpool's record Premier League goalscorer will not be sold at any price.

Despite this, reports emerged last week that Al Ittihad (home to ex-red Fabinho) had submitted an offer worth around £150m – which was instantly rejected by Liverpool – and now there are rumours that a fresh bid, worth up to £200m, could be submitted in order to truly test the club's resolve.

According to Salah's teammates however, Liverpool supporters have nothing to worry about, with Robertson the latest to come out and highlight the Egyptian's loyalty to the Reds.

Speaking to reporters after Liverpool's 3-0 win against Aston Villa, Robertson said: "[Salah has] always been committed to Liverpool, we see that in his performances. For us there is no concern. He is a Liverpool player and we think that will be the case for the foreseeable future."

In amidst all of the Saudi Arabia links, the Egyptian put in an impressive display on the pitch this Sunday, and was on the scoresheet as the Reds beat Aston Villa 3-0.

Robertson continued: "Mo blocks it out, we all block that out. We let other people talk about it, that's how it is. The squad is the squad, and it's the one that's going to go forward now with the window shut. It's not about looking forward to the season ahead and making sure we have a better season than last season."

Liverpool's Scotsman isn't the first player to publicly denounce rumours linking Salah with an imminent move away. New signing Dominik Szoboszlai was also asked about his teammate after the win over Villa.

Szoboszlai told reporters: "It is football, everyone is talking. We are really happy that he has stayed. We are of course speaking between each other but he wants to stay, he wants to be here and be with us. We are really happy. We need people in the team like him."

Liverpool now have an extended break to prepare for an away trip to Wolves on 16 September, while a set of international friendlies take place. By the time that fixture comes around, the Salah saga will officially be over, at least until the next transfer window.
