Andre Trindade hails Jurgen Klopp and 'exceptional' Liverpool amid transfer links

Andre Trindade has lavished praise on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp ahead of Fluminese's Copa Libertadores final against Boca Juniors.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with Liverpool this year and admitted last month that he contemplated a switch to Anfield in the summer transfer window. However, the move never materialized, as he decided to stay with the Fluminese at least until the conclusion of the Brazilian Serie A season.

When quizzed by Spanish outlet AS about Liverpool and Klopp, Andre referred to the Reds' work in recent years as 'exceptional' while also describing the German tactician as 'intelligent and successful'.

He said (quotes via Liverpool Echo): "I follow overseas games a bit and I know that their work is exceptional. Without a doubt, he is a great coach, very intelligent and successful. But at the moment, my coach is Diniz, a person I appreciate a lot off the field and who understands my style of play. I know how much I have grown in the field under his direction."

Andre is set to be one of the standout players in action when Fluminese take on Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final. Liverpool have reportedly scouted the 22-year-old for 18 months and could make a move for him in January, with the player himself admitting in an interview last month that he could look to leave the club in 2024.

He said: “I follow the Premier League a lot. It’s a very competitive league that demands a lot from players. But today my dream is to live day by day here in Fluminense. I don’t know what will happen in the future; I have a long contract at Fluminense and I really like being here."
